Baron and Lady Baron Alumni Basketball Fundraiser
Friday, October 31, 2014
On Nov. 22nd, the boys and girls will be joining forces to have a fundraiser by challenging any alumni to a basketball scrimmage at the high school. The 2014-15 Lady Barons will begin the night at 6:00pm followed by the Varsity Boys Basketball team. This will be a four quarter game. We would love for you to attend. If you are an alumni that is eager to play (and be sore the next day), please contact Landon Fraker at firstname.lastname@example.org or 740-272-3481. Admission will be $2.00 per person with all proceeds split between both programs. We will be having giveaways, a raffle and the concession stand will be open. Plan to attend to watch some exciting basketball and support the Buckeye Valley Basketball Programs.
BVMS CBI Students Participate in Make A Difference Day
Friday, October 31, 2014
Recently, BVMS CBI students gave their Saturday morning to pack rice-based meals down at OSU football stadium for hungry Haitian children in celebration of MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY . What an experience this was! For many, a once in a lifetime opportunity! We collaborated with Dempsey CBI which is always awesome for the kids to experience working with other peers from different schools! As we entered gate 31, students were given a U VS Hunger t shirt at registration. The $10 registration for each student was paid for by DACC. Students sat through a 10 minute video presentation about Haiti and the poverty in that country followed by a how to video for the actual meal packing.
After packing over 500 meals, onto the stadium! The kids were in awe as they looked around the stadium and couldn't believe how big it was. Many of the kids didn't know what turf was, so we made them sit down and feel it. Unfortunately there was a lacrosse camp being held on the field this year, so we were unable to go in the middle of the field, but did make it to the sidelines. Lastly, we took the kids to Raising Cane's for their lunch paid for by DACC. They were very well-behaved and will tell you of the amazing time they had. I encourage you sometime this week to praise them for a job well-done helping others?????????? less-fortunate! Very 212 of them! Thanks.
